It seems that the appeal of wrestling is so strong that even the might of Harry Potter couldn’t stop it reaching the top of the UK chart. THQ’s Smackdown! Vs RAW 2006 builds on last year’s game to give WWE fans a feature packed Sports Entertainment experience. The young wizard didn’t even make the top five, with Battlefront II, FIFA 06, GTA: Liberty City Stories and Pro Evolution Soccer 5 all outselling Harry’s latest movie tie-in.

Elsewhere we’ve got new entries for Atari’s – once again – disappointing Matrix tile, The Matrix: Path of Neo (No. 9), a somewhat unexpected low entry for Activision’s GUN (No. 14), and a more than acceptable place in the top twenty for the kid friendly Crash Tag Team Racing (No. 19) from Vivendi Universal Games.

Next week should see new entries for Shadow the Hedgehog, Call of Duty: Big Red One, LMA Manager 2006, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, Ratchet Gladiator, Soul Calibur 3, From Russia With Love, Pursuit Force, World Rally Championship, Mario Smash Football and Sly Racoon 3: Honor Among Thieves – just a few games to choose from then. We’ll let you know how they get on this time next week.
