Chart Track reports that Nintendo’s Wii Fit has now spent seven consecutive weeks at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart – 16 weeks in the No.1 spot since the game launched. This means the Wii Balance board game requires only two more weeks at the top to equal the record currently held by Eidos’ Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The week’s only new entry comes from Eidos’ Battlestations: Pacific on Xbox 360 and PC. The simulation sequel makes a solid, if unspectacular start at No.10.

Elsewhere there’s a bit of jostling for position, with FIFA 09 up one place to No.2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine slides to No.3, World at War climbs to No.4 and Mario Kart Wii holds at No.5. Resident Evil 5 is a non-mover at No.6, Mario & Sonic jumps two places to No.7, Professor Layton is at No.8 and Wii Play drop five places to No.9.

Things look set for a shake up next week, with several new releases likely to enter the Top 10. Capcom will hope to continue its recent chart success with the release of Bionic Commando on PS3 and Xbox 360, but will have to fend off strong competition from Nintendo’s Punch-Out!! and Pokemon Platinum, plus EA Sports Active.
