Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 makes it four weeks at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, recording its first sales increase week-on-week since launch.

FIFA 12 is the closest competitor, with a 30 per cent sales rise bringing the football title to just over 55,000 units behind Modern Warfare 3. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations slips two per cent and falls to No.3.

The Christmas shopping season is well and truly upon us, with Just Dance 3 shimmying up 54 per cent to No.4 and likely to remain in the Top 5 for the final weeks of 2011.

Skyrim is at No.5, Saints Row: The Third is down three to No.6 and Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call holds on at No.7. Mario Kart 7 is new for 3DS at No.8 in the All Formats.

Battlefield 3 is a non-mover at No.9 (up 16 per cent) and Super Mario 3D Land managed a 20 per cent increase and rests at No.10.

There are no further new releases inside the Top 40, but Abba: You Can Dance climbs 252 per cent to No.30 and Zumba Fitness 2 is up 97 per cent to No.34.

With no big releases left this year it’ll be a battle between the current cream of the crop to see who finishes the final few weeks of the year on top. Our money is still on Modern Warfare 3, but with only 55,000 units between it and FIFA 12 a pre-Xmas sale could be enough for EA’s smash hit to make a late charge for the top.
