Warner and Traveller’s Tales are celebrating a third week at the top of the UK All Formats All Prices video game chart, with LEGO Batman 2 holding off competition from the Olympic Games video game, Spider-man, Spec Ops and the Game of the Year edition of Dead Island.

LEGO Batman 2 took the top spot with a 30 per cent sales drop from the previous week, while SEGA’s London 2012 video game saw an 81 per cent climb in sales to claim second spot. The Amazing Spider-man dropped down to No.2, but sales were only down 15 per cent.

Spec Ops: The Line managed to hold on to a top five place at No.4, while the second biggest new IP of 2011, Dead Island, is back in the top five thanks to the release of the Game of the Year Edition – an edition that is somewhat questionable given it only earned the award from one media outlet, but it does offer good value on its re-release.

New releases this week include Square Enix’s quirky rhythm game Theatrhythm on 3DS, at No.19, while Funcom’s MMO, The Secret World, charted at No.38. EA and Funcom will be hoping the game saw the majority of sales via digital channels.

New releases coming to stores this week are extremely thin on the ground, with Namco Bandai’s Inversion being the only title of note. We’d be surprised to see the third-person shooter enter in the top 10, but a lower than normal RRP could help it enter the Top 20 next week.
