For the second week running Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend is top of the chart, with the PlayStation 2 version seeing a 4% rise in sales. The same can’t be said of the Xbox 360 version which saw a 41% drop in sales. The Easter holiday proved a successful period for the movie tie-in Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, rising two places to No.2.
Football Manager 2006 makes a re-entry into the chart at No.5 thanks to strong sales of the PSP and Xbox 360 versions, which were both released last week. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat also makes a re-entry in the top ten, thanks to the release of the game on the Xbox 360, and is this week’s No.2 selling Xbox 360 title.
Dragon Quest: The Journey of the Cured King makes a less than stellar entrance in the chart, only managing to place at No.15, perhaps suffering from a lack of recognition amongst the games buying public.
Next week Tetris DS will look to mirror the success that Animal Crossing: Wild World is having in the chart, but will face competition from Eidos Interactive’s Rogue Trooper, plus a double whammy from Sony in the shape of SOCOM 3: US Navy SEALs on PS2 and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo on PSP.
