Grand Theft Auto 5 has become the UK’s No.1 video game again thanks to its release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Chart-Track reports.
Tuesday’s sales alone were enough to see GTA 5’s total unit sales overtake those of Call of Duty: Black Ops to become the UK’s best-selling game of all time.
Sales for the upgraded sandbox were split 58 per cent on PS4 and 41 per cent on Xbox One. The remaining 1 per cent were on Xbox 360.
Far Cry 4, meanwhile, entered the chart at No.2 and Ubisoft will be pleased with its performance in a difficult launch week, recording the franchise’s biggest launch week sales by some margin.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is kicked down to third spot, followed by FIFA 15 which actually saw sales jump an impressive 25 per cent week on week.
EA’s Dragon Age: Inquisition is new at No.5 and shifted pretty much the same number of units that 2011’s Dragon Age 2 managed during its launch week. 2K’s WWE 2K15 also climbs 13 places to No.7 thanks to the PS4 and Xbox One versions hitting stores.
The old-gen release of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor helped Warner’s title climb 204 per cent up to No.11.

Ubisoft may be celebrating the success of Far Cry 4, but will be a little concerned by the falloff for its new Assassin’s Creed titles. Unity slips from second to sixth, whilst Rogue dives from sixth to twelfth. Likewise Microsoft’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection drops dramatically from third to tenth and Konami’s PES 2015 slides from No.8 to No.19.
