Chart Track reports that Bethesda’s Fallout 3 has entered the All Formats All Prices video game chart at No.1, with 55 per cent of sales on Xbox 360, 28 per cent on PS3 and 17 per cent on PC. The game’s Xbox 360 debut outsold that of Oblivion’s by 57 per cent.
Released for only two days, Fallout 3 has already sold more units than every previous Fallout game combined.
Fable II falls from No.1 to No.4 with sales dropping 51 per cent, while FIFA 09 climbs to No.2 and Wii Fit sales are up 126 per cent. Although only at No.3 in the All Formats chart, Wii Fit is the top selling single format title, ahead of Fallout 3 and Fable 2 on Xbox 360.
PES 2009 falls a single place to No.5, Far Cry 2 is down to No.6 and Quantum of Solace is new at No.7. Lego Batman is at No.8, Mario Kart Wii is at No.9 and Saints Row 2 is at No.10.
Outside of the Top 10 there are new entries for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 at No.15, MySims Kingdom at No.25, Touchmaster at No.28 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year at No.29.
It’s the big two next week, with Sony’s LittleBigPlanet and Microsoft’s Gears of War both hitting stores, although LBP will have a two days sales advantage (it hits stores on November 5). Also out this week are Guitar Hero World Tour, EndWar, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 and a heap of other titles. Will LittleBigPlanet’s two day head start be enough to secure the No.1 position or will Epic Games’ Gears of War 2 blow away the opposition? Find out next week.
