Call of Duty: Ghosts debuts at No.1 in the All Formats All Prices UK Video Game Chart, but fails to match the openings of GTA 5 and FIFA 14 which rank as the No.1 and No.2 biggest launches of 2013 respectively.
Sales were heavily skewed towards Xbox 360, which accounted for 62 per cent of sales. PS3 took 34 per cent of sales, PC only one per cent, and Wii U managed under one per cent. Amazingly, the PS4 version accounted for 3 per cent of sales, even though gamers won’t be able to play until November 29.
Battlefield 4 sticks at No.2 with Assassin’s Creed 4 dropping to No.3. Over the opening two weeks, Battlefield 4 sales are 6,000 units ahead of Assassin’s Creed 4.
FIFA 14 is at No.4, GTA 5 drops to No.5, Batman: Arkham Origins falls to No.6 and WWE 2K14 is at No.7.
Skylanders Swap Force claims 10th place and is the only Top 10 title to record an increase in sales week-on-week (2%).
Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is new at No.13, the only other title to claim a Top 40 place.

Call of Duty is used to being the biggest launch of the year, so coming third to GTA 5 and FIFA 14 is not going to be well received by Activision execs. Remember that FIFA 14 week one was down 24 per cent over FIFA 13.
Look out for new entries from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and XCom: Enemy Within.
