Battlefield 3 has entered the UK All Formats All Price video game chart at No.1, becoming the 10th biggest UK All Formats week 1 seller.

Week one sales are double that of EA’s Medal of Honor, which launched this time last year. Chart Track says that Battlefield 3’s week one figure is greater than the combined week one totals of all 17 Battlefield games since 1942 in 2002.

Warner’s Batman: Arkham City is forced into second place, FIFA 12 falls to No.3, Football Manager 2012 slips to No.4 and Just Dance 3 holds at No.5. Activision’s Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure continues to gain ground, with sales up 31 per cent and a chart high of No.9.

Kinect Sports: Season 2 performs much better than Dance Central 2, debuting at No.18, with the week’s other new entries including Namco Bandai’s Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi at No.23 and Ubisoft’s Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn making a belated entrance at No.35.

There’s no Top 40 place for SEGA’s House of the Dead: Overkill on PS3 and Disney’s family-orientated Disney Universe – the latter potentially another blow in Disney’s video game business, although there has been some strong TV advertising this weekend.

Konami’s PES 2012 is already out of the Top 10 at No.11, whilst Microsoft’s Dance Central 2 can celebrate a mini revival up from No.40 to No.34.

Next week we’re sure to see Uncharted 3 at No.1, but will sales suffer for being jammed in-between Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3? Also look out for strong new entries from Sonic Generations and the PS3/Xbox 360 version of GoldenEye.
