In a rather surprising chart, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has failed to dislodge FIFA Street from the top of the chart. In fact, the PlayStation 2 only Gran Turismo 4 outsold Ubisoft’s stealth actioner, with Chaos Theory only making No.3 in this week’s chart. Elsewhere the chart looks eerily familiar, with titles such as Viewtiful Joe 2 failing to make the top 40.

The Punisher, backed by some fairly prominent TV advertising, has climbed up the chart, being this week’s highest climber at No.7. Resident Evil 4 has had another disappointing week of sales, only managing No.36. With reports of many stores being sold out, we hope the game will perform better over the coming weeks.

This Friday sees the release of the Xbox port of Doom 3 and the PC Doom 3 expansion Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. With only SWAT 4 and Trackmania Sunrise on the PC offering any form of competition, we expect high entries for both Doom titles in next week’s chart.
