Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Shanghai are both “working on a series of [Far Cry 4] missions set in an all new environment outside of the game world,” creative director Alex Hutchinson has revealed.

Details on the missions will be shared “shortly”, he says, although it isn’t yet clear whether they’re being developed for inclusion in the main game or as DLC. The core game is being led out of Ubisoft Montreal.

Furthermore, Ghost Recon developer Red Storm Entertainment is “working on the competitive multiplayer part of the game”, Hutchinson says, although details on that have still to be revealed.

Far Cry 3’s multiplayer was developed by The Division studio Ubisoft Massive.

Expect to hear much more on Far Cry 4 when Gamescom gets underway next week.
