Ubisoft’s pirate combat game Skull & Bones has been delayed again.
The game is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it was originally slated for a 2018 release. Then, it was delayed to the financial year 2019/20, and now it has been delayed until ‘after 2019/2020.’
Ubisoft has also said that the game will not be appearing at this year’s E3, in June. The news came from an earning’s call, before the game’s producer, Karl Luhe, confirmed the report in a video message from the game’s official Twitter (via Gematsu).
We’re going to batten down the hatches and push back on the game’s arrival—this is a challenging news for us all, but it’s what’s needed to make Skull & Bones as awesome as it can be!
Our focus remains on quality first and we’re grateful for your undying support ☠ï¸âš”ï¸ pic.twitter.com/ZCt85tY3TG

Luhe’s statement on the delay is as follows:
‘Rest assured that we are working as hard as ever to make sure that the game is going to be as great as possible, and quality remains our number one focus. Ubisoft remains fully devoted to this exciting journey to bring you this brand new game, and we’re confident Skull & Bones is going to be amazing. Our community remains super important to us, and we’re really grateful for the support and passion you’ve given us. And we will back as soon as we can with exciting new updates.’
Skull & Bones will be released PS4, Xbox One, and PC – with no concrete release date on the horizon just yet.
