While everyone is waiting in eager anticipation for the next Transformers game it’s worth remembering that there was a time when players were swamped with numerous games about the Hasbro property. The Xbox 360/PS3 era in particular saw a lot of Transformers games, of mixed quality, hitting store shelves. However, most of these games, including the much beloved Cybertron series, were taken off the digital storefront a few years ago and the only way to play them now is by tracking down an old physical copy of the game. However, the recent successes regarding the Activision Xbox merger have gotten many fans of the games hoping that they’ll make their way to Game Pass in due course.

Speaking at a San Diego Comic-Con panel Q&A (via. Transformers World 2005) the Hasbro team responded to one question about the games saying they’d be “an easy Game Pass add.” However, according to Hasbro, “Activision’s not sure what hard drives they’re on in their building. When a company eats a company that eats a company things get lost, and that’s very frustrating.”

Hasbro continued by saying they hope the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Xbox will mean that the company will “go through all of the archives and every hard drive to find it all.” The Hasbro team desired that these games make a return “for people to have a chance to play”.

Many fans will likely be sharing Hasbro’s sentiment here as it’s likely a lot of players will want to return to older Transformers games in the lead-up to Transformers Reactivate, which is set to arrive on consoles and PC in 2024. In other recent news, Diablo 4 should take notes from Path of Exile 2, according to players and Team Fortress 2 now supports 100-player matches but Valve doesn’t recommend it.
