Pokemon GO has been updated with new Pokemon for the first time since the game launched, The Pokemon Company and Niantic have announced.

Trainers can now expand their Pokemon GO Pokedex with Togepi, Pichu and other Pokemon originally seen in the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver games. Visit and spin PokeStops to acquire Eggs, which might then hatch one of the new additions.

Furthermore, Pokemon GO players should also keep an eye out for the special edition Pikachu wearing a festive hat, available in game until December 29.

“As we race toward 2017, we can’t help but feel grateful for the support and reaction the Pokemon GO community has given us, and we’re delighted to start rolling out select Pokemon for them to hatch,” said Kei Kawai, director of product at Niantic. “We’re also looking forward to celebrating the season with our community by introducing a Pikachu wearing a festive hat, providing Trainers the opportunity to get out and explore their neighbourhoods with friends and family as they gather for the holidays.”
