Titanfall 2 “likely” won’t release until at least April 2016 – and even then fans may have another 12 months to get their hands on it.

EA discussed the timeframe for the upcoming shooter sequel during its latest earnings call last night, telling listeners to “assume” that the game won’t release until EA’s FY 2017, which runs from April 2016 to March 2017.

“In terms of Titanfall, you should assume that that’s not in fiscal 2016. It’s more likely in fiscal 2017,” said EVP Blake Jorgensen. “And a title of that size, we want to be pretty clear as to when it’s falling in the title slate, and so your assumption should be 2017.”

EA has already confirmed that a new Battlefield title will release in late 2016, suggesting Titanfall 2 may take up the March 2017 shooter slot. The original Titanfall launched on Xbox One and PC in March 2014, arriving on Xbox 360 one month later.

The sequel will be a multiplatform release, meaning it’ll likely come to PS4, too.

Spring 2016, meanwhile, will see the return of Mirror’s Edge and a brand new Plants vs Zombies.
