Worms is all about multiplayer gaming. There’s nothing better than sending a missile into the face of an opposing worm, and with Worms: Open Warfare 2 players will be able to send that missile to a player sitting on the opposite side of the world.

Open Warfare 2 for Nintendo DS and PSP will build on the first game, adding online play and a host of game modes and environments to battle in. Players will find themselves in the middle of famous battles from the past as well as fictional fights of the future, including the Spanish Armada conquest, the frontlines of World War II and outer space.

In addition to the game’s classic Deathmatch mode, the game will feature new multiplayer modes such as Rope Race, Fort, Puzzle and Campaign modes challenging the player to use teamwork to defeat the enemy.

The game features 11 new weapons like the Bunker Buster and Buffalo of Lies as well as classics such as the Super Sheep, Concrete Donkey and the Holy Hand Grenade.

The game will also feature online leaderboards and stats, updated daily on the official Worms website. There’s also a host of in-depth customization options including custom landscape and team flag editors, modified hats, tombstones and victory dances.

Worms: Open Warfare 2 is scheduled for release on PSP and Nintendo DS this summer.
