The First Descendant developer Nexon has built a bit of a reputation over the years due to its questionable microtransaction practices. And, following its latest looter shooter’s launch, that trend seemed set to continue after numerous people complained about TFD’s obscene in-game store prices. But in a shocking turn of events, the dev team defied community expectations with their latest patch by providing changes that players had requested.

As part of the latest The First Descendant update 1.0.3 patch notes, Nexon included a change that increased the amount of Void Shards you can obtain. At the same time, the developers also “improved the farming process to make it more convenient,” giving you an easier time farming these resources and allowing you to spam those Void Fusion Reaction missions even more. But if you’re new to the game and need help learning how to destroy Void Fragment and collect Void Shards, we’ve got you covered, too.

Predictably enough, many within the community were surprised by this latest change since this means Nexon is actually listening to fan complaints. And, based on The First Descendant director’s comments included with the official patch notes, the wave of player-requested changes won’t be stopping any time soon, as the team also plans to provide more ways to address AFK farmers in-game and “improve Fragment farming routes” in a future patch.

Of course, with this update only recently released, the next one will likely still be a few weeks away.
