Platinum Games’ Wii U exclusive shifted only 5,258 copies, charting at No.14 in the week ending August 25, according to data released by Media Create.

It’s worth noting that the game only hit stores on the previous day, on August 24.

The Wonderful 101 was believed by many to be a possible system seller, but actually managed to have the opposite effect, with Wii U console sales dropping week-on-week by 5,000 units to 7,030 units.

And the game was actually outsold by Pikmin 3 (5,741 copies) which has been in stores since July 13.

It was a similar story in the UK, with The Wonderful 101 managing only 22nd place in the UK video game chart.
