Developer CD Projekt RED has released the much-anticipated PlayStation 4 HDR patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt following numerous delays.

The update is compatible with both PS4 and PS4 Pro, and aside from implementing vibrant High-Dynamic Range effects also spruces up the celebrated fantasy role-playing game with stability and optimisation improvements, bug fixes, and ‘minor visual improvements.’ Presumably, this means you’ll be able to marvel at the individual strands of Geralt’s beard, but either way, the game will look and run better than ever.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in May 2015, and was later bolstered by two meaty expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine. The series has sold over 33 million units worldwide to date since its debut in 2007, with Wild Hunt currently the best-selling entry in the franchise.

Geralt’s story may be over, but be sure to keep an eye out for him later this year as he’ll be popping up to crack some heads in SoulCalibur VI.
