Telltale Games has removed The Walking Dead: The Final Season from sale on PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Marketplace.

In addition, the final chapter in the zombie drama series is no longer available on GOG.com, with a statement on the website revealing that Telltale has requested a 'temporary pause' in sales for the narrative-based adventure game.

This is despite the fact that episode two of The Walking Dead: The Final Season was released just yesterday.

'Telltale has requested a temporary pause of sales of The Walking Dead — Final Season,' reads the statement. 'For all up to date Telltale news, please refer to their official Twitter page.'

The move comes in light of Telltale confirming a 'majority studio closure' following a heavy number of layoffs at the company, which has left only 25 employees remaining. At the time, it was heavily believed The Walking Dead: The Final Season would be cancelled after episode 2, but Telltale has since revealed it is aiming to finish the game.

Stranger Things is another casualty on the list, although Netflix still intends to produce the game despite Telltale winding down operations.
