Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios have announced The Outer Worlds 2, with a cinematic trailer.

During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, the trailer gave us a glimpse, and not much more than that. It also featured a satirical voice-over.

Check it out:

It’s one of those trailers that lets you know that something is happening, and not much more. Like a logo reveal, but with some added graphical spice.

The description reads:

“New solar system, new crew, same Outer Worlds. The Outer Worlds 2 is coming… and when that day is closer we will show you more… but until then enjoy this.”

The Outer Worlds 2 may well be a long way off, but, when it does come out, it will be on Game Pass on day one. It will most likely also be an Xbox exclusive, given that Microsoft now owns Obsidian.

The first game was beloved by some, and churlishly begrudged by others—I happen to be one of the others. In her review for VideoGamer, Imogen Donovan said, “The Outer Worlds is Fallout in space, but that isn’t to say you’ve seen it all before. In fact, I believe I haven’t seen the half of what this game can do.”
