Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is the next entry in the series to be released, following back-to-back releases by Infinity Ward which saw Modern Warfare 2 and 3 release in 2022 and 2023. Treyarch hasn’t released a new game in the Call of Duty series since 2020’s Black Ops Cold War.

Following the Black Ops 6 announcement by Activision, which will be revealed at Summer Games Fest next month, the official artwork for the game has been released.

The key art shows a soldier in the iconic Black Ops pose that can be seen on the cover of games such as Black Ops 1 and 3. It was heavily rumored for many months that the game would be titled Black Ops Gulf War, but the official artwork doesn’t mention the Gulf War and instead is just called Black Ops 6, which could point to a more modern setting.

This comes after Activision began releasing teasers from a mysterious website called The Truth Lies. The clips featured a group of activists defacing statues and monuments, across the world, including Mount Rushmore.

Black Ops 6 is set to be revealed during Summer Games Fest, which begins on June 9th. There we will see the official trailer for the game as well as learn more about what to expect from Activision’s latest shooter, which is being co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software.

Over the coming months, we can expect various Alphas and Betas that will allow players to check out the game ahead of its launch, which is currently rumored to be October 25th. Black Ops 6 marks the first entry in the series to be released following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which means that it should launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass, adding a lot of value to the service and giving Xbox and PC players a way to check the game out for a low price.
