In Early Access and the Xbox Preview Program for some time now, The Long Dark finally has a release date, and is also coming to PlayStation 4.
Developer Hinterland Studio announced that the game will get a full release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on August 1, alongside the first two episodes of a brand-new five episode Story Mode called Wintermute. Creative Director Raphael von Lierop said it was inspired by Cormac McCarthy’s The Road on PlayStation Blog, adding that it builds on the core gameplay seen in the Survival Mode.
While no date has been set for the three episodes post August 1, von Lierop indicates the studio is looking to release them between the remainder of 2017 and 2018.
