The trailer for the upcoming remake of  The Last of Us has leaked, and the game is out on both PlayStation 5 and PC on September 2nd.

A listing for the game popped up on Sony’s PlayStation Direct store (via VGC), including the trailer below:

As you can see, the game looks very pretty, indeed. It looks as if it has been done up in the engine that powered The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Also worthy of note is that the title of the remake is The Last of Us Part I, a neat little detail. The listing on the shop described some of the features that we can expect:

“Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat.”

The upcoming game will feature the full single-player story mode and the Left Behind D.L.C. This was basically as expected, given that there have been a number of leaks around the release. And it still remains something of an oddity. The original PlayStation 3 release isn’t even a decade old. The remaster, on PlayStation 4, came out a year later, in 2014—and is, of course, backwards compatible on PS5. But now we have a ground-up remake. Still, I’ll play it, because it will be an already-terrific game but with the graphical and mechanical improvements of its successor. Why not?
