Publisher Team17 & developer Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (yes, really) have announced The Knight Witch, coming later this year.

The game combines a magical deckbuilding game, a Metroidvania and a bullet-hell shoot-em-up. You’ll be exploring the underground city of Dungeonidas, under siege by a mysterious threat. You’re Rayne, a young hero and the Knight Witch in-training in question who’s venturing into the city to save those she loves.

You’ll have a deck of 30 unique spell cards to pick from, and a host of Knight Witch abilities. You’ll mix and match these to suit your playstyle, and of course upgrade and improve them along your journey. The more you explore and take down, the more city residents you rescue, and the more you rescue, their gratitude fuels your power.

However, you’ll get to choose how you obtain this power-fuelling trust, either through fair means or foul. It’ll be down to you whether you take an honest approach, or lie to the people to make yourself more popular and powerful. The development team comprises of some veterans, who’ve worked on games like RiME, Moonlighter and Plants vs Zombies.

You can check out a trailer for The Knight Witch down below. The game arrives later this year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
