Before the chaos brought about by the appearance of the Meridia black hole, Helldivers 2 players were busy celebrating the addition of the new Emancipator Exosuit. Unfortunately, festivities were cut short once players realized the new mech wasn’t everything it was hyped up to be. Because instead of getting a bug-crushing, bot-demolishing machine, all soldiers got was an ammo-hungry suit with an absurdly long cooldown that made it especially useless in quickfire missions.
Naturally, some players wasted no time calling out the Emancipator Exosuit on Reddit, with u/CarlitoFonLongDong69 even providing video evidence of its incompetence. In the clip they shared, we see the mech going up against a dreaded Bile Titan. Now, typically, it should only take less than 15 autocannon hits to bring down this spindly-legged behemoth. In the clip, however, the exosuit’s autocannon packed so little firepower that it took over 20 shots before killing the Bile Titan.
Its use in higher difficulties becomes even more troubling since you can’t rearm it, has minimal ammo, and a whopping 100-second cooldown. So, once you call it down and it runs out of juice, you’ll be left sitting there twiddling your thumbs until its next (and last) use comes around. All these disadvantages make the Emancipator Exosuit practically unusable because, let’s be honest, who wants to bring a two-use mech into a mission when several other stratagems are much better and pack a bigger punch?
Hopefully, Arrowhead Game Studios can find some way to buff the Emancipator Exosuit in a future patch. Some are hoping its autocannon damage gets increased to bring it onto the same level as the more powerful AC turret. But until this mech gets a buff, it will continue to get passed over for other much more useful stratagems.
