Finally, after waiting months longer than initially expected, the release of The First Descendant Season 3 is on the cusp. There will be some free rewards to claim soon after Season 3 starts, and a bunch of the new skins that will be available day one has fans ready to splash the cash, too. In addition to new skins and an exciting crossover with Nier Automata, Nexon has just outlined some huge “immersion” improvements that will arrive with The First Descendant Season 3 update.
The First Descendant Season 3 “immersion” improvements
The First Descendant Season 3 is scheduled to start on August 7th. Ahead of its release, Nexon has outlined huge “improvements to gun sounds to enhance battle immersion”.
As part of the improvements, Nexon have “enhanced the overall detail of gun sounds to give each weapon its own unique texture and firing feel”. This also includes “finely tuned elements such as feedback when firing bullets, reverberation based on distance, and recoil to provide a more realistic and immersive battle experience”.
In addition to the above, Nexon have “improved weapon feedback by differentiating hit sounds in various situations to provide players with a more immersive experience during monster and Colossus battles”. Examples include “enhanced Weak Point hits by applying dedicated hit sounds when striking Colossi’s Weak Points,” as well as “improved hit sounds against Immune enemies to be distinct from regular hits, making it easier for the player to grasp their situation”.
Away from just weapons, Nexon “have improved the UI sound played when acquiring items to provide a more natural and harmonious audio experience”.
Lastly, Season 3 will add a lot of sound options. Players will be able to “adjust sound effects, UI sounds, and voice separately” thanks to the “Options > Audio” tab that will include the following:
- Sound Effect Options: Adjust PC/Weapon/Hit/Vehicle sounds individually
- UI Options: Adjust System/Item/Notification sounds individually
- Voice Options: Adjust PC Voice, Quest Voice individually
