The Finals players are already hot for these additions in the game’s latest update

Online shooter The Finals has dropped a brand new update, and though the patch notes reveal the new update includes a wealth of balance changes – and a brand new LTE – it turns out that’s not what a good chunk of the community are the most hyped about.

Indeed, a thread on The Finals subreddit reveals that many players can’t wait for the new options when it comes to skins and outfits that the new patch offers thanks to the expanded store selection – especially those who appreciate the game’s development team of DICE veterans who formerly worked on the Battlefield series. “Looks great, was definitely inspired by Bad Company like everything else in the game. Give us Gold Rush!” says NorthDumplin. “This is the skin I have been waiting for. Set and forget.” concurs Povertyofse1f.

While not everyone is a fan of the mil-sim skins (short for military sim, for those not in the know) – most do concur that the game’s conceit of a VR gameshow means that a big variety in the theme of cosmetics makes a lot more sense, and should help avoid arguments from similar games like Call of Duty Warzone that skins could become too outlandish and stand out too much. “F**k it make a skin for everybody,” says United_States_of_Cuh. “Make some ninjas, make some doctors, make some hockey players, or make some ninja-doctor-hockey players its a virtual game show you can do anything you want.”

“I desire the crazy b******t,” agrees TheGoonKills. “It don’t gotta be beautiful, it just gotta be weird and memorable. S***, get some cross promo s**t going on for skins! Fortnite this s**t up! It’s a game show!” Plenty of other members of the community have their own suggestions that range from the obvious to the unique “Oh yes for sure. Heavy Viking with axe (sledge hammer), medium spartan with sword and shield (baton and riot shield), and light samurai with katana (sword). That would be sick.” suggests Littlebitoall.
