The Finals dev reveals plans for clans, new “casual mode” and more

The Finals Season 4 is an absolute blast! It’s brought a lot of players to back to Embark’s multiplayer shooter, and there is a lot of new content to enjoy. In celebration of the season’s launch, Embark has just conducted an AMA with the community on Reddit. This has resulted in some interesting details such as The Finals developer revealing plans for clans, a new “casual mode,” and more for the future.

In addition, there are a only a couple of days remaining to get the current free skins that are on offer through Twitch Drops. Embark has also revealed when the Season 3 ranked rewards are coming while explaining why they are not already out to claim.

There is a lot to enjoy in Season 4 right now, and there is stuff to anticipate for the future including a Halloween event. However, there’s plenty more beyond just Halloween, and the developer has shared some of their plans in an AMA.

The Finals AMA reveals exciting plans for the future

Embark conducted an AMA on October 2nd with The Finals community on Reddit. We have compiled some of the most interesting answers from the developer about their plans for the future.

Starting with clans, Embark was asked if such a social system will ever be added. Embark provided the following response:

“We have mapped out multiple social features on our roadmap for the next couple of seasons. We know how important these features are for our entire player base, both for the more casual players and also for the more competitive players… the list is pretty long, but yes, ‘clans’ is on the roadmap… ROB.!”

In addition to the above, the developers were asked if there are any plans to introduce new modes. While there’s no ETA for when new modes will arrive, Embark is exploring the possibility of TDM:

“We are exploring adding TDM at some point in the future, we just need to figure out how best to deliver it in a format that suits THE FINALS. That said, we think it’s important to mention that TDM will never be a core mode of THE FINALS, more as a warm-up mode or casual mode that offers some variety. The reason for this is that, ultimately, THE FINALS is a game that puts dynamism and destruction at its core and that’s a big part of what makes the game unique and different, so we really want to focus on modes that best support that.”

There were many other aspects discussed in the AMA. Rob revealed there are plans to add “sorry” to the text chat wheel, and Embark is planning to add a music jukebox in Season 5. The developer is also looking to bring PowerShift to Las Vegas and Fortune Stadium, and Embark will be adding more game modes in the future besides TDM.
