Telltale Games and Deck Nine have confirmed that The Expanse release date is closer than ever and fans of the latest intergalactic narrative adventure finally have a specific time frame they can look forward to. Much like some of Telltale’s previous, critically acclaimed works in The Walking Dead and Batman: The Enemy Within, The Expanse will similarly be episodic in nature so you won’t be able to play through the entire story in one go immediately.
Telltale has also revealed that there will be a total of five episodes for the entire series, with the first chapter becoming available on the release date itself. However, the following four episodes will be released every two weeks afterwards, meaning you won’t be able to binge on this particular story like your favorite Netflix series. With that said, here’s everything else you’ll need to know about this highly anticipated outer space-based game.
The Expanse A Telltale Series release date
The Expanse: A Telltale Series release date for the first chapter is set for July 27th with the next four episodes scheduled to launch every two weeks afterwards.
With this in mind, we can expect the second and third episodes to be made available on August 10 and August 24 respectively. The fourth episode should then be released on September 7 with the fifth and final installment to follow two weeks later on September 21. However, you should still take these dates with a grain of salt for the time being as Telltale is yet to actually confirm them.
The Expanse A Telltale Series story details
According to a statement from Telltale, The Expanse: A Telltale Series’ story “is set prior to the events of Alcon Television Group’s critically acclaimed and award-winning television series” of the same name. You’ll be able to take on the role of Camina Drummer as she hunts for a mysterious treasure on the edges of The Belt with her crew.
Much like Telltale’s previous creations, The Expanse will contain plenty of difficult choices that you will need to make in order to progress through the story. The decisions made will also largely influence the game’s outcome, meaning you’ll need to replay the game if you want to experience all of the endings that it has on offer.
If you’re looking forward to playing through this exciting, intergalactic adventure, then you’ll be able to do so on multiple platforms including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC. Sadly, the Nintendo Switch has been left out of the list of compatible systems so handheld players may have to opt for a different console if they want to play The Expanse.
