Faith No More front man Mike Patton will reprise his role as The Darkness in The Darkness II, 2K Games has announced.
“The story behind The Darkness II wouldn’t be complete or authentic without the character of The Darkness,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Mike Patton brings a completely unique perspective to the role which is essential in creating the world of The Darkness.”
Players control Jackie Estacado, who inherited the demonic powers of The Darkness on his 21st birthday from his father who carried the curse before him. By staying in the shadows and avoiding the light, Jackie can summon the powers of The Darkness to destroy his enemies with deadly Demon Arms and supernatural abilities.
Players will experience Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons.
The Darkness II will be released this autumn for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
