Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz on Lionhead’s tenth anniversary, co-founder and industry veteran Peter Molyneux revealed that there can be no excuses for his company not to make a great game.
“I still think that Black & White had a huge amount of flaws in it, I still think that Fable had a huge amount of flaws in it. And there are excuses for that. There’s time, there’s pressure, the small group, there’s being distracted,” said Molyneux.
Now, under the ownership of Microsoft, such excuses won’t stand-up, but Molyneux believes Lionhead’s best work is still ahead of them, adding: “The next projects that we do are a true measure of our ability, our ambition, our passion.“
Fable 2 is currently expected for release in 2008, although no specific date has been confirmed. For more on Lionhead and Fable 2 head over to Pro-G TV where you’ll find parts one and two of a Lionhead behind the scenes documentary.
