FIFA 13 will feature Kinect voice commands, making it possible to make changes to your team’s formations, perform substitutions and shout at the referee.

During a live demonstration at Microsoft’s E3 conference EA Sports unveiled the new functionality.

There was no sign of Kinect-powered penalty kicks, instead EA opting to support regular controller play.

In addition to making tactical changes the most fun features appears to be player reaction tracking to the referee’s decisions, with commentary dynamically adapting to your expletives if you happen to heavily disagree to an offside call.

There also appeared to the ability to call for the ball in Be a Pro mode.

FIFA 13 will be released this autumn.
