Super Mario Run, Nintendo’s first Super Mario game developer specifically for mobile devices, will launch in 151 countries and territories on December 15.
The iPad and iPhone game will be free to download, offering players limited access to the game’s three modes. Players can choose to make a one-time payment of £7.99/$9.99 to enable unlimited access to all modes.
Making the game simple to play on mobile devices, Mario runs forward on his own, with players tapping a single finger to jump over obstacles, avoid enemies, perform moves and more.
“The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”
The game is compatible with devices running iOS 8.0 or later and will be available in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese language options.
