Speaking at an after hours press event, the Super Mario creator confirmed that gamers may have to wait to get their hands on Super Mario Galaxy, with the game not guaranteed to arrive at the launch of the Wii.
“[Galaxy] is progressing along quite well, but it’s often said that when I get involved in a project I upend the tea table. I don’t want to promise anything yet. But if it’s not a launch title it will definitely be there within the first six months,” Miyamoto said.
A post-launch title would seem likely, given how low-key Nintendo was over the game during its Media briefing, but until it’s confirmed there’s a chance it will be available from day one.
