Indie developer Image & Form has announced that players who manage to complete SteamWorld Dig 2 to 100% will unlock even more content post-game. This news follows the release of SteamWorld Dig 2 on the Nintendo eShop earlier today. Hope you’re content with that.

The developer said that it’d made a promise during development of SteamWorld Dig 2 that it would ‘include a big reward at the very end of the game. A chunk of bonus gameplay that justified getting to the core of what SWD2 is all about: exploration.’ They were initially going to keep the conditions of unlocking this a secret, but have decided to spill the beans to players.

In SteamWorld Dig 2, players will play as the new steam-powered lady Dorothy, who’s searching for her lost friend. The lady robot had previously appeared in the first game as one of Rusty’s allies. Just like Rusty, Dorothy is armed with a pickaxe, which she uses to hack her way deep into the underground mines for resources, riches, and more. The developer has said that it wanted to place more of a focus on enhancing the platforming elements in the charming sequel. Judging by the critics response so far, Image & Form is doing something right.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is out today on the Nintendo Switch. A release on PC, PS4 and PS Vita follows on September 26.
