Item creators on Steam Workshop have been paid over $57 million since the service launched late in 2011, Valve has announced.
These creators have been producing items for Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
In celebration of Steam Workshop’s success, Steam content creators can now create and sell items for non-Valve games too. The first curated Workshops for non-Valve games are Dungeon Defenders: Eternity and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
