It’s been an amazing year for video games so far. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the leading contender for game-of-the-year, but there are other worthy candidates such as Blue Prince, Split Fiction, and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. If you are yet to play any of these games, it’s possible you might be able to reap discounts in the upcoming Steam Summer Sale. Here you will find the release date and time countdown for when the Steam Summer Sale 2025 will start along with the end date and games we hope to see.
When does the Steam Summer Sale 2025 start?
The release date and time for when the Steam Summer Sale 2025 will start is 10AM PT/1PM ET/6PM BST on June 26th. This countdown comes courtesy of SteamDB.
This is one of Valve’s annual biggest sales in addition to Black Friday, Halloween, and Winter. Before the start time listed above, you can take advantage of the Summer Sale currently being conducted by Electronic Arts.
EA’s sale includes massive discounts for some of their biggest franchises including Mass Effect, EA FC, and a whole lot more.

- Third Person Shooter Fest – August 25th to September 1st
- Political Sim Fest – Septmber 8th to 15th
- Autumn Sale 2025 – September 29th to October 6th
- Next Fest October 2025 – October 13th to 20th
- Steam Scream Fest 2025 – October 27th to November 3rd
- Animal Fest – November 10th to 17th
- Sports Fest – December 8th to 15th
- Winter Sale 2025 – December 18th to January 5th
Games we hope to see
Unfortunately, we won’t know the list of games included until the event starts. While we don’t know what games are planned to receive discounts, we can at least share our hopes and wishes.
We’d love to see discounts for the best games of 2025 so far such as Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and especially Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 because of its heftier price. We’d also love to see discounts for some amazing games that came out in 2024 such as Silent Hill 2 and Black Myth Wukong.
There will also likely be a big discount for Grand Theft Auto 5. If you still somehow haven’t played the continuous best-seller, now would be the perfect time to grab it and play before GTA 6 next year.
Steam Deck games
As for games that are categorised as great on Steam Deck, Split Fiction would be an excellent discount as it’s one of the best games of 2025 so far, only slightly bested by Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and Blue Prince on Metacritic.
Unfortunately, Death Stranding 2 has released, but it is not available on PC at launch as the sequel is once again a timed exclusive for PlayStation. While we don’t know how long we need to wait for DS2 to land on PC, the Director’s Cut of Death Stranding is on sale for only £13.99 until the Steam Summer Sale 2025 starts. It’s a fantastic game that is verified for the Steam Deck.
We’d also love to see discounts for Baldur’s Gate 3, the record-breaking Stellar Blade, Persona 5 Royal, and No Man’s Sky for the Steam Deck, as well as plenty more. However, we will just have to wait and see what discounts we get.
