Is Death Stranding 2 coming to PC?

In Death Stranding 2, Sam Porter Bridges is back for another stint at expanding the Chiral Network, though this time he has his site set on post-apocalyptic Mexico and Australia. Much like the original, the sequel is a timed PlayStation exclusive, meaning it will only be available on Sony’s flagship PS5 at launch. Given the popularity of the original and its PC port, there are questions around whether we can expect Kojima Productions bring Death Stranding 2 to Steam.

Will Death Stranding 2 come to PC?

As it stands, Death Stranding 2 is only landing on PS5 when it releases on June 26, 2025. This is due to the game being a timed PlayStation exclusive much like the original which launched on PS4 before a PC port saw the light of day not too long afterwards. Though there’s been no official confirmation from either Kojima Productions or PlayStation, the game is almost guaranteed to arrive on PC at a later date. 

The original launched on November 8, 2019, on PS4 and then on PC only 8 months later on July 14, 2020. Though there’s no guarantee the time frame will match from the sequel, we fully expect a PC release within a year or two at most. The Steam launch of both the original and subsequent Director’s Cut were successful so we fully expect Kojima Productions to want to tap into the lucrative PC market this time around. The game even made it’s away to Xbox Series X|S on November 7, 2024, highlighting Kojima Productions’ commitment to releasing its games on as many platforms as possible.

For the time being, we’ll have to await confirmation and further details from Kojima Productions. It’s difficult to ascertain the exact length of Death Stranding 2’s PS exclusivity deal or if the developer has even started work on a PC port. But the main take away is that it’s highly likely Death Stranding 2 will release on PC at some point.
