There has been a lot of great games to play recently on the Steam Deck. There is the best reviewed game of 2025 so far in Blue Prince, and this month also saw the arrival of The Last of Us Part 2 playable on Valve’s handheld platform. While it’s a shame the offer to grab Metro 2033 for free has now expired, some good news is that new freebies have become available from Prime Gaming and the Epic Games store. Now Steam Deck users can claim five “very positive” free games and more, although the performance of each may vary.

How to claim new Steam Deck free games

Some more free games have just become available for Amazon Prime Gaming subscribers. Below are the free games along with their Steam Deck status and review aggregate on Valve’s store:

  • Gloomhaven [Epic Games store] – playable (very positive)
  • The Last Spell [GOG code] – playable (very positive)
  • Fashion Police Squad [Epic Games store] – playable (very positive)
  • Genesis Noir [Amazon Games App] – playable (mostly positive)
  • Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain [GOG Code] – no Steam Deck rating/reviews
  • Berserk Boy [GOG Code] – verified (very positive)
  • The Last Show of Mr. Chardish [Epic Games store] – unknown (very positive)
  • Wild Country [GOG Code] – unknown (no rating)

In addition to the above freebies from Amazon Prime Gaming starting April 17th, the Epic Games store is also offering the following until April 24th:

  • Botanicula – verified (mixed)
  • Firestone Idle RPG w/$100 value and free skin – playable (mostly positive)

To get the freebies from Prime Gaming, you will need to be subscribed to the service for £8.99. This delivers more than just free games as it comes with free delivery for items purchased from Amazon, and it also includes Prime TV with dozens of shows and movies to watch as well as occasionally live sports.

In addition, to claim the above free games on your Steam Deck, you will want to use the free Heroic Games Launcher which supports GOG, Epic Games, and Amazon Games. Unfortunately, most of the games on offer right now are listed as “playable” on Valve’s store rather than “verified,” which means you can play the games but there might be some hiccups.

In other Steam Deck news, an upcoming Sonic game is officially verified for Valve’s handheld platform with free rewards available to get.
