There have been a host of great games supported on Steam Deck so far this year. Right now, players can enjoy The Last of Us 2 on SD, meanwhile, SEGA’s new upcoming Sonic game is verified for Valve’s handheld platform, too, with pre-register rewards still available to get. While Sonic is exciting for an unspecified date, in the more immediate future, the best reviewed game of 2025 is rated “playable” on Steam Deck and releases soon.
Best reviewed game of 2025 is “playable” on Steam Deck
As of writing, the best reviewed game of 2025 so far on Metacritic is Blue Prince. It sits just ahead of Split Fiction, which is officially verified for Steam Deck.

Blue Prince is officially scheduled to launch on April 10th. If you have a Steam Deck, the good news is that it is rated “playable” on the Steam page. Below are the pros and cons listed by Valve:
- Pro – All functionality is accessible when using the default configuration
- Pro – The game shows controller icons
- Pro – The game’s default graphics configuration works well on Steam Deck
- Con – Some in-game text is small and may be difficult to read
Per SteamDeckHQ in their glowing review, the game is a “joy to play on the Steam Deck,” and “It can run nicely at 60 FPS for the most part”. However, while it can run at 60FPS, SteamDeckHQ recommend “setting a 45 FPS limit” because “The battery drain is a bit on the high side at times,” and there are “minor drops” that happen “when turning around in crowded rooms and running through the house”.
There is no price listed on the Steam page for Blue Prince ahead of launch. However, if you happen to own a PS5 in addition to a Steam Deck, you may want to get it on PlayStation instead as it will be free with PS Plus Extra.
As for SD freebies, players are quickly running out of time to get BioShock Remastered and more for free.
