According to trusted leaker, NateTheHate, Bethesda’s Xbox console exclusive, Starfield, will finally release on PS5 in 2026. PlayStation loyalists have been waiting for the sci-fi RPG ever since it landed in 2023, and there were rumors for 2024, then 2025, and now next year.

On October 20th, in response to a user asking about Starfield on PS5, NateTheHate posted, “Believe the announcement will be in 2026 unless plans change”. Then, in response to a naysayer pointing out original rumors dating back to 2024, NateTheHate elaborated, “The expansion content planned for this year was delayed & they [Bethesda or Microsoft] want the PS5 version close to that. So… buy me Starfield for PS5 when it hits next year?”.

The delayed expansion in question is the second DLC after Shattered Space which was released on September 30th, 2024. If Starfield does come to PS5 in 2026, it’s plausible it could arrive in September as it launched on Xbox and PC on September 6th, 2023, followed by the DLC in the same month a year later.

Starfield and Xbox Exclusives Coming to PS5

Starfield coming to PS5 isn’t official, but it seems an inevitability. Bethesda’s Indiana Jones was an Xbox console exclusive before joining PS5 in April, and there are other former Xbox console exclusives that have made their way to PlayStation. These include Gears of War Reloaded, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 5, which ended up as the highest-selling PS5 game earlier this year.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also coming to PS5 on December 8th, which was accurately leaked by NateTheHate. The Elder Scrolls Oblivion shadowdrop earlier this year was also accurately leaked by Nate, along with details about the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. The only leak that hasn’t come to fruition from NateTheHate yet is his insistence that a current-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 does “exist”.

If Starfield joins PS5 next year, it will be another fun Xbox console exclusive for PlayStation loyalists to enjoy. It’s not as good as Oblivion, Skyrim, or any of the Fallouts, but it’s still a fun Bethesda RPG with all of the warts and jank you’d expect from the developer.
