There are some great games coming out in April that we know about. There’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle finally joining PS5, and PlayStation users are also getting the incredible Forza Horizon 5 from Xbox, too. While these releases are official, perhaps the biggest game to come out this month hasn’t even been announced. There have been several rumors about an Oblivion remake, and a renowned insider now claims that the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered release date is next week.

Insider claims Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered release date is next week

Renowned journalist and insider, Jeff Grub, has claimed that the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered will come out in the week of April 21st. This was said during the latest Giant Bomb podcast uploaded on April 14th.

At the 37:16 mark, Jeff Grubb provides an update on the Oblivion remaster which will reportedly launch as a shadow drop. After previously claiming it could come out at any moment, Grubb now specifically points to the “week of April 21st, so basically the last week of this month, next week essentially”.

Grubb claims to have received “separate confirmation” that it will shadow drop sometime next week. Previously, NateTheHate suggested the game will come out in the “second half of April,” which would be accurate presuming Grubb is correct.

Previously, rumors and leaks said that the game is a remake. However, images have now leaked, and they reveal that the title is Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered. While this might be disappointing, the leaked gameplay images show that the graphics have still received a significant overhaul.

In addition, according to MP1st, the game is a “fully remade” version of Oblivion in Unreal Engine 5, and it reportedly includes reworked systems such as stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and HUD. It’s also claimed that the new blocking system takes inspiration from Souls-likes.

While the release isn’t official for April, the leaked images suggest that the game will come to PS5, PC via Steam, and Xbox Game Pass on day one. Remember that none of this is official as Bethesda have not even announced a remaster as of writing.

In other gaming news, the next event for Fortnite has leaked and it’s massive.
