Update: After initially suggesting the leaked Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake could be announced either in March or April and come out before June, NateTheHate has now leaked that the release window is April.

According to the often-reliable leaker, “Both the release and reveal are targeting next month (April)”. In addition, they claim “The gap between the reveal and release will be minimal,” and that “a shadow drop is possible”.

Of course, this is just leak rather than anything official. As of writing, Bethesda hasn’t even announced the Oblivion remake, so nothing is confirmed as of yet.

Original story:

There are a plethora of highly-anticipated game releases for 2025 with Grand Theft Auto 6 arguably the most anticipated game of all time. However, while GTA 6 is occupying the mind of most, there is also a lot of anticipation surrounding a remake of Elder Scrolls Oblivion. A remake hasn’t been announced by Bethesda, but it has been leaked, and an often-reliable leaker now claims that the Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake could release “sooner” than originally expected.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake release is “likely to be sooner than original target”

Although it hasn’t been announced by Bethesda, there have been leaks concerning a remake for Elder Scrolls Oblivion. And, according to often-reliable leaker NateTheHate, we could be receiving news very soon.

In response to a user asking if news about the remake is expected for March, NateTheHate said “Either this month or next month”. In addition, the leaker claimed, “Release is likely to be sooner than the original June target”.

As part of their Xbox 2025 predictions video, NateTheHate said “Oblivion is coming out in June” (23:55). Now, the leaker is claiming it is “likely” releasing sooner, although they are “still working to get details on an updated release date”.

If the Oblivion remake does come out sooner than the alleged June target, that would presumably mean May if an announcement happens in April. However, right now, this is all just a leak as Bethesda hasn’t even confirmed the game’s existence.

According to MP1st, the game is a “fully remade” version of Oblivion in Unreal Engine 5, and it reportedly includes reworked systems such as stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and HUD. It’s also claimed that the new blocking system takes inspiration from Souls-likes.

Hopefully we get the announcement of an Oblivion remake soon. It’s often considered the best of the Elder Scrolls series alongside Skyrim, and it would be wonderful to return to the open-world in a significantly improved experience.
