Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has revealed that the game's much-anticipated multiplayer update is now live and kicking.

You'll now be able to team up with a mate for some gardening action, although the update extends beyond just adding co-op; ConcernedApe confirmed that a heap of new content is up for grabs too, including all-new items and events.

Stardew Valley's new co-op mode supports two-four players, and things function pretty much as you'd expect only you can now get a helping hand to achieve your goals. It's easy to get stuck in, too; just get Robin to cobble together a cabin for the extra player(s) and you're good to go.

Other highlights include new character events, which grant you a number of permanent bonuses, as well as three new monster types and treasure rooms for Skull Caverns. You can check out the full list of patch notes here.

Oh, and if you're fed up of planting the usual crops, then there's now a mod that lets you add weed into the mix. It's also worth remembering that Stardew Valley is out now for PlayStation Vita for on-the-go-gardening.
