Listen, not going to lie, we’ve been pretty excited ever since we heard that the Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish was working on a ‘Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter’ RPG game, and now more info has been revealed via PCGamer.

The game is currently called Spellbound, although that’s a working title, and Finn Brice, the CEO of Chucklefish, said of the project, ‘We have an entire game world, and in fact the entire game world minus a couple of areas is entirely explorable, and you can move around it.’ The world also has it’s full cast of characters, so right now Chucklefish is working on ‘amusing situations’ to put the characters into.

Spellbound will apparently give quite a true-to-life experience of being at school, so you can, for example, get dumped by your love interest if things aren’t going so well. Designer Jay Baylis said, ‘We’re taking that idealised heroism away from you and you’re just another awkward teenager at a school of awkward teenagers.’

Listen. I hated being a teenager. But I am extremely happy with this game’s concept. There’s a lot going on for Chucklefish besides this though; Stardew Valley is about to come out on Switch, for one thing.
