Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fans have been waiting for any news regarding a third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series since the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released earlier this year. However, following a recent job posting, it looks like the third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series is currently being worked on.

The job posting on LinkedIn says Respawn is looking for “a highly skilled Principal Game Writer who will embrace our philosophy and share their hard-earned expertise to help us create an incredible Star Wars experience for our players in a fun, third-person action-adventure setting.” This job posting won’t come as a shock to many Star Wars Jedi series fans as the previous game’s director, Stig Asmussen noted that he always wanted the series to be a trilogy. In an interview with IGN, he said, “I always wanted to see this as a trilogy. How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?”

Given the ending of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fans were confident that the series wasn’t done yet. However, players are hoping the game will release in a more stable state than Star Wars Jedi: Survivor did on launch. Responding to the news, one player said, “Can’t wait! Hoping the next installment isn’t so buggy but can’t wait to finish Cal’s story. I’m in that weird gaming funk after completing Survivor where nothing else is scratching the itch.”

It seems like Star Wars fans will have a lot to enjoy in the coming years as games like Star Wars Outlaws are also being worked on. In other Star Wars news, Star Wars Outlaws will feature an “ever-present” GTA-like wanted system and Star Wars Outlaws gameplay gives Uncharted vibes, and not a lightsaber in sight.
