Star Wars Battlefront II’s next major update will officially roll out on March 21 and implement the much-anticipated progression system changes for the trouble science-fiction shooter.

If you’re wondering what all the hullabaloo is, the update makes significant tweaks to progression in the sense it’s now entirely linear. Star Cards and other items can only be earned through gameplay, and are not able to be purchased, with experience points now up for grabs on any classes, hero characters, and ships you use in multiplayer.

Fortunately, you will be able to keep anything you’ve earned up to this point including Star Cards, heroes, weapons, and more regardless of how much or little progress you’ve made. Meanwhile, crates will no longer feature Star Cards; they instead contain cosmetic items and other goods that don’t have any impact on gameplay. In addition, they cannot be bought anymore, and are only earned by logging in each day and completing milestones etc.

Finally, Star Wars Battlefront II players will soon be able to start earning appearances via in-game Credits or Crystals, giving your heroes a fresh makeover in the process. DICE has also promised that the game will receive a number of fresh updates in the coming months, though didn’t go into any further details.Â
