THQ has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will include cooperative play, but has since removed mention of the game mode from the official forum. The post stated that co-op would be added 30 days after launch and that it will be free to anyone who buys a new copy of the game. This would presumably be via THQ’s Online Pass system, with second-hand buyers being able to purchase the upgrade online.
“Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will have co-op,” THQ told Joystiq. “We are looking forward to announcing more details later this month!”
THQ announced details of the Collector’s Edition and pre-order bonuses a few months back, with the Collector’s pack including a 10″ replica Purity Seal. Space Marine is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on September 9.
