Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 publisher Pullup Entertainment has promised massive support for the recently released action game following massive sales of the game. Initial sales figures already caused the studio to consider the possibility of story DLC, but the game’s “record-breaking” launch has guaranteed additional content.
More Space Marine 2 support promised
In the most recent financial report from publisher Pullup Entertainment, the Space Marine 2 publisher confirmed the game is the “best launch” in the company’s history. Previously known as Focus Home Interactive, the publisher’s long history of game releases has been stomped by the success of the new Warhammer game.
In the launch period, the brilliant Warhammer 40K title has attracted “more than 4.5 million unique players” across Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The game is now in the top 5 launches of 2024 beating out other high-selling games like Silent Hill 2.
Deputy CEO of Pullup Entertainment, Geoffroy Sardin, revealed the true extent of the game’s success, saying: “Our second-quarter revenue exceeds the previous record set for the full 2022-23 fiscal year. The launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is remarkable in terms of numbers and execution.”
Due to the huge launch success of the Warhammer title, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Pullup Entertainment have promised “substantial live support” for the game. While a year of support for the game has already been planned—including new Tyranid and Chaos enemies—there will now be even more support for the game.
A blueprint for the future
Alongside continuing to build on the success of Space Marine 2, Pullup Entertainment is using the title as a blueprint for future releases. Praised as the “perfect Xbox 360 game”, Space Marine 2 has proven extremely popular for providing a full campaign, PvP and an extensive co-op mode. The game is even adding a Horde Mode in a future update.
Pullup Entertainment explained that the success of Warhammer and its recent simulator title Train Sim World 5 will be the basis of building a successful catalog of “games with recurring revenue”.
