Saber Interactive has released its new operation for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, bringing new content to the game alongside essential bug fixes. Adding the towering Hierophant Bio Titan for the game’s final stand on Kadaku, the update adds a masochistic new Lethal Difficulty mode for players to fight through.

Kadaku falls in new operation

As announced earlier this month, the new Kadaku Operation allows players to fight through a final stand against the Tyranid. As the first of a wave of promised new Tyranid and Chaos enemies, the new update allows players to battle a massive Hierophant Bio Titan as the planet falls to the Xenos scum.

“This new Operation takes place on Planet Kadaku,” Saber’s official synopsis of the mission reads. “New dreadful foes have arrived. Make good use of the artillery to annihilate them.”

As the first post-launch operation, players will be treated to a host of new missions in the future. With story DLC now considered before Space Marine 3, years of additional content is on the way.

Space Marine 2 adds a new difficulty

Alongside the arrival of the new Kadaku Operation, players are now able to take a stab at a brand-new difficulty mode. After speedrunners ruined easier modes, Saber has introduced the new “Lethal” difficulty for the game’s true masochists.

In the new Lethal difficulty, Space Marine 2 players will be able to fight against both Tyranid and Chaos forces with even more challenge. Alongside Ammo Crates having limited refills per player, the new mode also makes it so that armour can only be gained from finishers if you’re close to your battle-brothers.

Majoris enemies can also now become enraged during fights, making them harder to defeat. However, players who manage to defeat Operations on this mode will also earn some unique cosmetics.

Changes have also been made to the game’s Ruthless Difficulty mode to make the game harder as the game’s developers believe the title was made “too easy” in the last patch.

“We think that currently Operations mode is a bit too easy,” Saber said. “Overall these changes are going to make Operations mode harder, but it is difficult to measure by how much. We will continue to monitor those changes and will continue to adjust the balance of Operations mode. This is not the last change.”
